Second Location! For real this time..

bgp.rodeo is expanding to the hometown of its operator… Enschede!

Het is het eindpunt van de trein,

bijna geen mens hoeft er te zijn,

bijna geen hond gaat zover mee:

Enschede.

I already had GRE-tunnels to my home, which is why I listed Enschede under ‘Network info’. But this time it’s for real.

Thanks to InterDC bgp.rodeo now has a second router with a dedicated link back to Nikhef. Of course, I already linked them up via iBGP and I already started migrating some services, since capacity on the Amsterdam machine was getting limited.

But that’s not all. We started a new (but also old) initiative: Ens-IX. A new internet exchange in… well, not Nikhef :). Ens-IX ports are available in all InterDC locations and in Equinix EN1.

Soon, InterDC will also hook me up with a transit link.

I have to be honest, I was skeptical of InterDC, but after getting a tour and seeing it for myself, I blame myself for not checking it out sooner. InterDC has nice datacenters with flexible options, so check them out if you need something in the area.
